Renowned for its exquisite lingerie, classic and fashion hosiery and swimwear creations that are both elegant and feminine, La Perla was established in 1954 as a corset boutique in Bologna. The distinctive name was inspired by the jewel-lined cases with red velvet in which the first products were first delivered.

In 2000, the brand’s ‘Brassiere Britelle’ bra, two strips of lace covering the bosom, was chosen for actress Rebecca Romijn in Brian de Palma’s movie ‘Femme Fatale’, starring Antonio Banderas and Peter Coyote.
